ENROLLING NOW 2009 COURSES

Kingston College is an Education Queensland multi-pathway campus.  The Adult Education Centre is part of Kingston College and although separated physically from the main school it is designated by Education Queensland as a Centre for Continuing Education

The Adult Education Centre provides an opportunity for students, aged 15 and over, to continue or to re-engage in formal learning programs within a flexible and informal setting.

The Centre has re-entry courses for people with different needs and starting points who wish to undertake part-time or full-time studies in pre-year 10 English and Maths, year 10, year 11 and 12 and in senior externally assessed subjects.

People who enrol at the Kingston College Adult Education Centre have different starting points, such as-

  • returning to learning after an extended absence

  • re-engaging in learning after some previous negative schooling experience

  • undertaking year 10 subjects for better work prospects e.g. apprenticeships, entry into the Defence Forces, TAFE pre-vocational courses

  • completing English and Maths A for a Senior Certificate

  • completing English Communication and Pre-Vocational Maths for a Senior Certificate

  • completing other Senior subjects for tertiary entrance

  • balancing family commitments and study around the day and/or evening sessions

  • taking a literacy/numeracy course (Everyday Maths and English) to increase confidence and skills before starting year  10

We have had students enrolled at the Adult Education Centre from 15 years into their 70's, all building on opportunities.

Enrolments are generally taken two to three weeks before each course starts.
